Algonquin Canoe Trip Documentary

This is a very exciting summer camp opportunity for boys 10 to 14 to go on a fourteen day canoe trip to Algonquin Park. We are also making  a documentary or documentary web series of the trip.

Based on the BBC Edwardian Farm concept ( currently aired on TVO) the boys will be living as the boys did in 1982 with no smart phones or video games. They will learn how to work together as a team building strong life long friendships over the two week trip. We will provide all the equipment and clothing for the trip as everything has to be 100 % 1982 or pre-1982. However we will have modern safety gear.

We wish to offer the completed documentary to TVO for broadcast when completed.

Unfortunately do to the high cost of the trip we do need to raise $8400 to help cover the cost of food, transpiration, park fees and the lifeguard. We require each youth to make a fundraiser video and help raise the funds for the trip. Please ask your church, grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles to make a donation. Every dollar counts. Organize a bake sale, garage sale, car wash whatever you can think of.

For the determine actor some pre-trip skills building events will be held to improve your skills to the levels required.

Hi there,

Welcome to SterlingProductions.ca the internet home of indy not for profit film maker Sterling Johnston. I am a one man band type artist. I do everything from writing the scripts, to building the sets, producing the productions and final selling them.   The plan is to make enough money  to cover the cost of making a film and hopefully fund the next.

Our target audience is age 8 to 16. Grown ups my like the films but they we never written or designed for people over the age of 16 except for Echo Beach the Movie which has a target audience 16 to 26.

Sterling Productions is a not for profit and everyone working on our productions are volunteers.  We create opportunities for young actors to build the partical experience that they require to find work in the film and television industry.

Just like hockey football or anything else for that matter, it takes about ten thousand hours of particle experience before anyone will consider you a professional.

Please help our youth by making a donation today.

Please make a donation to this project and help our youth reach their goals in life. You may also sponsor a youth as not all youth have the money to go on the trip. The more donations we have the lower the cost per child will go. Thank you for your support.
